During work last week, two of my co-worker friends and I were on an assignment. We happened to grab lunch in Downtown Los Angeles on Sunset. I had never been in that area (around Silver Lake) and I could not believe there were so many places in the area that I wanted to try. I will definitely be going back. We stopped at a small place called Good, which is famous for its hundreds of beers in stock and of course the food. You have the option of sitting outside in the shade or inside, but with the heat lately we had to stick to the inside. If you look toward the kitchen area there are tons of every different type of beer you could think of that are lined against the glass wall. I was not in the mood for a very heavy meal during lunch because I get very lazy afterward, but chose the Arrogant Bastard Cobb which was the best Cobb that I’ve ever had. It was topped with an avocado cut into a flower shape. The lettuce was shredded instead of in big pieces, with tomato, bacon, turkey, bleu cheese, and chopped scallions. (It was probably the prettiest salad I’ve ever had too.) Both friends chose sandwiches. One had a pulled pork sandwich with beer battered fries. When he didn’t speak a word throughout the whole meal besides the constant, “Mmmm”, I knew it was good. The other friend had the Aspen sandwich which contained a turkey breast with cranberry sauce, Dijon mustard, and swiss cheese on top of cranberry spiced bread. We found out that it has Mystery Beer Wednesdays for three dollars, so I will be taking more friends there to enjoy it with me. Overall, the meal was very tasty and Good was even better than its name suggests. I do recommend this as a place you will want to stop by if you are in the area. I do hope I didn’t make your mouth water too much.
