Goodbye 2008

by Samantha on December 31, 2008

2008 has thrown my personal life plenty of curve balls this year. None that I couldn’t get through, but have been a challenge along the way and have helped me feel like I am getting somewhere at the end of this year. Thankfully I had plenty of friends and family to help me get through the application rigmarole for schools I actually wanted to attend. Early on I didn’t really plan to pack up and start school somewhere different. Especially not somewhere that was far from the Los Angeles area. I hadn’t even wrote about it in my blog before the previous post for fear of not being accepted or being superstitious in a way. I sat for a while with the four of my top five acceptance letters in my hand, pondering what school I would like to go to. Which one would offer me the best opportunity, the best programs, the best scholarship, and would make me happy in the long run.

I am not really one for New Year’s resolutions, especially since I probably don’t keep at least 90 percent of them or they are pretty much ridiculous. Although I can say that I will work my butt off in 2009, because I am ready to start this new chapter in my life. I will be putting a pause on everything else in my life, or putting it in slow motion so I can concentrate. I can also safely say that I have finally made my decision which school I will be attending Fall 2009.

On that note, here’s wishing everyone a fun-filled, healthy, and happy 2009!
