About the Girl

Originally I started a blog entitled “Living in Los Angeles, One Day at a Time” hoping to leave day to day events in my life on it. Although, I had to work on changing my blog name, because I wouldn’t be living in L.A. anymore and I needed a name that would relate more to me.

I moved to San Francisco (specifically Burlingame) to attend Stanford which I was accepted to for the Fall of 2009 to continue working on my Bachelor’s degree. After planning to join the medical field my whole life I decided that even though I was totally interested in science, it just wasn’t what I wanted to spend the rest of my life doing. In my spare time I had always enjoyed coding, and typography. Technology had always tugged at my heart strings, so I decided to make a complete change and start working toward a Computer Science degree.

In my spare time, I enjoy being the girl on the go who never really just sits at home. On my weekends I love picking a random city on the map, charging the iPod to listen to through the car speakers, and exploring. Thankfully I live in California, the most gorgeous state of them all. It offers me the Pacific Ocean which is usually where you will find me taking in the scenery. I love to document my experiences, so of course this is why I started to blog and take pictures of everything amusing or beautiful to me.

Anyway, after much pondering and trying to find a specific domain that would fit me, I settled with “That’s What Sam Said.” Being a frequent user of the phrase “that’s what she said” (which I completely blame on certain friends – you know who you are) I thought it was something that could stick for as long as I needed and happened to be a little funny. However you happened to find this page, I hope that you enjoy reading about my experiences being a girl in her twenties who is just having fun and figuring out all life decides to throw her way. :-)
